Thank You to All the CNY Area Labor Federation, AFL-CIO Affiliates and their Union families for your dedication to the political process and passionate hard work to do what ever it takes to fight for the issues that affect all Workers in this, and every election season.

Not electing the first woman President of the United States was definitely an opportunity missed to continue our country's journey, past the inequities faced by all Workers and in particular women and minorities.

Today, the day after, We, the Labor Movement, can only do what we instinctively do; evaluate the loss in order to properly prepare our members for the next battle.

American Workers simply want to go to work each day and earn a fair wage. They don't want to utilize food pantries or accept handouts but if we are to maintain that fair wage as well as a safe and healthy workplace, we must also be willing to stay prepared to fight, accepting that when there is an attack on any any one of us it affects all of us.

Let us look forward to our next Central Labor Council's monthly meeting where we as a movement will come together to discuss "what happened?", "Where could we have done better or differently?" Our CLC meetings have and always will be where we refresh and fine tune our voice that even after this loss will continue to speak out loudly and clearly for the dignity and rights of All working men and women!

The President-elect, Donald Trump speaks of the country coming together. Yes the Labor Movement understands "coming together" as long as we are sitting at the table writing our issues into that Coming Together Agreement.

As a Central New York Organized Labor movement let us "come together" as we have never have done before giving our own National leadership the tools to work on their level to make the next four years, ones when Working Men and Women WIN.

Stay united, Stay strong. Take a moment to reflect and consider getting more active in your Union and your Labor Council. Once again the Labor Movement has been given an opportunity to show just what "Coming Together" is all about...
